when your girlfriend gets a boyfriend

Life changes.

Lets say I have this friend I hang out with a lot. She’s great. Is the perfect listener, great to go shopping with, we have similar tastes , both like reading and we just enjoy spending time together.

And then she meets up wit this perfect guy.

He s adorable too:) -and I am so so happy for them through out the.. ‘does he like me?’.. ‘does he not like me?’….’does he still like me ?’ phase.

But then slowly you realize that the time we spent analysing the relationship over tv shows and coffee breaks and shopping saturdays is actually being spent ‘in’ the relationship.

Suddenly I get the urge to growl at him instead….’ grrrr..you’re taking my girl and my time!! ‘ ( not so adorable now!)

Anyways, I control the urge…. because I really am happy for them, am thrilled that they are together and wish them a lot of luck and happiness!

But every now and then when I want to call, but don’t want to disturb and get all confused -

So I growl.. grrrrr!!!!!.. and hope that she/he/they hear it!

Learning a new language

I feel pretty stupid for not realizing this earlier.

It is stupid to not know language of the country you’re living in.

Why did’nt I realize this years two years back? By now I would have been a natural at norwegian and understood what the letter from my bank says. and my doctor says. and my phone bill says.

Have spent this weekend digging out the norweigan books and workbook and dictionary considerate friends lent me a long time back!

I guess I never realized that I would still be here two years down the line and that’s why did’nt take the initiative.

Or I’ve just been lazy.

Anyways better late than never:)

I am going to take this up as a challenge (ahem!) and hopefully six months later, this blog would be bilingual;)
