I like old men
Kristian asked me if I wanted to raise money for Pakistan and I made my my mouth in to a big o - something like this :-O
What did we do to explain things before smileys?
But anyway, back to the story on why I like old men.
Ahem.
I always think of myself as a giving person and I sympathize when I see an earthquake on TV. But I don’t think I have ever gone out of my way to donate money for something like it. So much for being giving!
This time howevever Kristian convinced me to join him in collecting money ourside Ulleval Stadion for RedKross.
We stood at gate number 17 with our Red Kross overall and a plastic red can. At first I was shy and would’nt look at the Tromso people who came all the way to see the match in the eye - but slowly I got in to the role .
I know that seeing us standing there reminding these football fans of earthquakes - at a place where they go to relax and have fun, probably made them feel a little guilty and slightly annoyed.
But well, all for a good cause I guess:) These are my observations :
Young women never give money. Infact they don’t even notice you! Not a single one donated.
Old women look cynical and walk away with a shrug.
Young men smile and flirt and sometimes even give a little.
Small children gave money out of their snack money at half time and smiled real bright when I said Takk!
But its the old men who showed the most kindness and charity!
I don’t know if they have the most money to give, or the type of people who fall for the puppy eyed look:)
But they do make you feel good about what you do on a Sunday evening.
:)
So here’s a blog ‘toast’ to them and to Tromso for winning the match!
‘Skol’!
